Volkswagen has announced that it is integrating ChatGPT, an AI-based chatbot, into select cars and SUVs globally. The integration will be done via the IDA voice assistant, with a particular focus on the current MEB and MQB EVO-based models. The integration of ChatGPT into the backend of the Volkswagen voice assistant offers a multitude of new capabilities that go far beyond the previous voice control.

• 🤖 Volkswagen plans to bring ChatGPT, an AI chatbot, into its cars from Q2 2024, starting in Europe, offering hands-free assistance for tasks like adjusting the air conditioner through voice commands, with no need for account sign-ups or app installations 🚗
• 🌐 The integration of ChatGPT into the backend of the Volkswagen voice assistant offers a multitude of new capabilities that go far beyond the previous voice control. For example, the IDA voice assistant can be used to control the infotainment, navigation, and air conditioning, or to answer general knowledge questions 🎙️
